The race of faith is set out by God to be run by all followers of Jesus Christ. Followers of Jesus Christ should have a proper theological understanding about the Christian journey that it’s not just about waiting around just getting into heaven. The race is not a sprint but a marathon. The race is not easy but one that is full of diversions and traps. It is a race that we are called to persevere and remain faithful to the end. As such, we need to see the race in its proper perspective – there are costs and sacrifices in following Jesus, and Satan will tempt us to sin. But what is encouraging about this race is that we don’t run it alone.
