Announcements

Today’s Summer Baptism Worship Service has been relocated to Logos Baptist Church, beginning at 2 pm. Doors will be open at 1:30 pm. A friendly reminder that there will be no morning service today
During the baptism service, children will remain with their parents. Activity bags will be prepared for the children.

Logos Baptist Church

Until further notice, the sanctuary is under repair. Our English Sunday worship service will take place in the gym at 9:45 am. Children’s ministry will operate as normal.

Roofing Update From The Roofing Repair Task Force (August 7th)

The ceiling repair work has been completed.
Deep cleaning is scheduled for next week.
Air quality tests (for mold) have taken place, and we have passed.
The structural engineer has provided verbal confirmation that there is no structural impact from the incident. The formal report will follow.
Current target for resumption of use of the sanctuary: Saturday, August 15th.
Note: water dripping occurring in Rooms 304 and 306 will be addressed in the Roofing replacement scheduled to begin shortly.

Facilities and Venue Booking – We are switching to use the Church Center App for church-related facility booking requests. Please submit your request using this link.

All congregation bookings for personal use will be considered a rental and subject to rental fees. For ministry bookings, please clearly indicate the supervising pastor who provides direction and nurturing of this ministry. Please contact your lead pastor if you have any questions concerning the supervising pastor of a ministry.

Pathways is a support group for parents of post-secondary students, offering connection, encouragement, shared experiences, and prayer. We’ll keep in touch regularly through WhatsApp and email so everyone stays encouraged and up to date.
This group is only open to parents who worship in our English Congregation, with children attending post-secondary schools.

Finance Update

Children's Ministry

On Sunday, August 9, from 9:45 am to 11:00 am, all children’s programs will be cancelled. The nursery will remain open for self-service, as the English Congregation will be holding its Baptism Service at Logos Baptist Church at 2:00 pm.

The Noon Children’s Sunday School (11:30 am -12:45 pm) will run as usual.

2026 Summer Noon Children Sunday School will be held from June 28th to the beginning of September. Volunteers are needed to serve as teachers and teaching assistants to assist students from kindergarten to Grade 6. If you are interested, please register on the Church Centre app.

From June 28 to September 6, Summer Sunday School will be available for children from Preschool to Grade 8, with early arrival at 11:15 a.m. (regular program: 11:30 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.). No advance registration is required.

Prayer

Please pray for our baptism candidates, Elina Ho, Lauren Kwong, Edith Lam, Frank Lam, Alexander Law, Amanda Lee, and Joshua Zhen, as they profess their faith and step out in obedience to the Lord. Pray that the Lord will establish their steps and guide them to be fruitful disciples in their Christian journey.

Mandarin Congregation

Pray for the Farewell and Commissioning Thanksgiving Worship for Rev. Sean Zhou and Pastor John Feng. Pray also for Pastor David Zuo, as he assumes the role of lead pastor. Lastly, pray for the August 14-17 short-term mission to Trois Rivieres

Cantonese Congregation

Pray for God’s guidance during the sanctuary repairs and gymnasium services, and that He will bless the Cantonese Vacation Bible School and World Cup Final outreach, drawing children and seekers to grow in faith and come to know Christ.

105 Gibson

Praise God for the various food donations and support we have received this summer. May our community continue to be blessed by people’s generosity

Upcoming Events

From August 10th to 14th (Monday-Friday), 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the church will be hosting the Children’s Summer Day Camp. During this time, all church facilities will be reserved for the Children’s Ministry.
To ensure the safety and security of all children attending Day Camp, access to the church building will be restricted during Day Camp hours. Members who need to enter the church are kindly asked to use the main entrance and check in with the Day Camp staff.

Praise God for giving Joyce a refreshing and insightful personal retreat in Malaysia and the opportunity to reconnect with friends.

Please pray that God will provide the right SEN teacher for next year, as He has so faithfully done this year; give Joyce wisdom to develop an accredited SEN program that fits the local culture and school system, and help her build connections within the global Christian professional community to strengthen the program.
